Hi Johnzin
thanks for your questions.
a) Fate and FateStorm are two different systems with the only real thing in common is the use of a fate point mechanic. But how these are used within each system is also different. The FATE system still relies on dice for determining action resolution FateStorm does not, it relies on the player character being able to overcome the odds and use both their natural ability, knowledge, skills and equipment - as well as tactics to succeed.
b) I must admit until you mentioned it I hadn't heard of Sorcery and SuperScience. Having taken a look there are a few narrative similarities but otherwise they appear very different - please take into consideration that I have not actually read Sorcery and SuperScience, but only what I've found available through reviews and on the website.
Sorcery and SuperScience strikes me like Conan in the future, a bit like Rifts with mutants and magic.
Shattered Moon would be closer to Grimm's fairy tales meets The walking dead. One game tester described it as a mix of Hellboy and Mad Max. I think one of the key differences is that the old world in Shattered Moon, was not that long ago (about 40years) and is still fresh in the minds of the survivors and the player characters. Also the focus of the stories in Shattered Moon surrounds the nuoSidhe. They are not mutants, they are the transmogrified sidhe; their spirits were bound to live in human bodies after the last titan war, and have lived many human lives until the present. But with the shattering of the moon the release of Lilith and the breaking of Oberon's seal, they have now returned to their true state. And it is the role of the nuoSidhe that the players explore within the game.
The fey courts (seelie and unseelie) have returned and the player characters as nuoSidhe are a mix of the duality of spirit that comes from these courts as well as the memories of when they were human.
Hope this clarifies things a little.

Hi Wayne
thanks for asking.
We're currently finishing off the new setting for FateStorm, Shattered Moon. Due to illness we lost our publication deadline and now it looks like this will get pushed back to early next year. Sadly that means that Ascendancy won't be transfered to hardcopy till after that date. That's the bad news.
The good news is that when it arrives it will have a new layout and streamlined text. We've already made a lot of improvements to it in the background but we're waiting for the 2nd edition to release it.
Once again apologies for the delay, we're on the case and will let you know when it's available on DriveThruRPG and RPGNow.
Kind regards
Tim
